The mission of the Staff Orientation and Development Office (SODO) is to provide support for the orientation of newly recruited instructors at YTU SFL and professional development opportunities for teachers (and learners when appropriate) in order to enhance the quality of teaching and learning activities at YTU SFL, to promote shared institutional values and work in coordination with other academic offices and contributes to the learning and teaching environment within the institution. When there is a vacancy in the SODO, an announcement is made to invite instructors interested in the post. The applicants are expected to have a minimum of two years' experience at YTU SFL and a B.A. or M.A. in the field of ELT. The ones who have knowledge of recent educational trends in ELT, an interest in educational technology regarding ELT and strong communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.
